one thing i like about writing is that it makes me forget I want to eat – here’s a little splash I put down that saved me from another bowl of cheerios and bananas with black cherry yogurt on top.

I look at you, a flower growing – time lapses, you are stretching your petals toward the sun right in front of me. #briellezbub

Make a fence,
You make a point
Of science;
Kneecap, tendon, joint.
I didn’t know where to go,
But here inside this red yoyo.
I bet you barely notice me walking
Along a string, this little thing
On such a, Oh – well not a very
Really not a nice enough day.
I rolled the pieces of plasticine
Mixed the word [rape]
The yellow, I mean
I, I really changed the way,
It’s obscene.
And you are spitting green.
A winning formula
With stuffing stuffed
And huffings huffed
A scarf at tea
Truffled me
Not enough
Not enough.
You said, “Not my child.”
She cannot sit
Not there, not with
So close, to wit.
I prithee comfort
A breathing dark
A vast timbrelled sleep
Sleep, sleep.

Inking up newsprint with splotchy headlines
My words, cum-droplets of my insides
The words roll smooth across the page
Like I’m a paper mate sage
You walk like you’re somebody
Like a game, like the legs of industry
Comforting spot, a slew of you
Different risk, I need a few.
I like skunks and monks
And the kid at the back of the class who flunks.
I like the ones who have a soul like the punks
And the ones who seem like they could never make it;
The ones who are least likely to fake it.
I take stock from the bin most reject
And blow off caste so I can connect
It’s spirit world most don’t care or know of
A pigeon curb family of the dove
I was flown from.
I find that in our current phase of social media, people are dealing with an impulse to a very quick trigger finger, and to reductionist methods, ie-black and white and little grey in their responses and continual postings on FB and Twitter.
I’m writing this post after coming across Jane Friedman’s post on this very subject this morning called 3 Horrible Mistruths About Social Media That Drive Me Insane, (also, comments on FB) In her post, Jane takes issue with these trigger happy critics of social media and points out three of her favorite memes on the subject. Jane takes the position I am referring to, where she understands the truth behind the seemingly banal subjects that people post about. Continue reading

Hi, I’m Brielle aka Briellezbub, and the reason I’m grinning like a Chesh-cat is because I’m excited about my writing. Specifically, I’m uber excited that you are here.
I want to ask you this, writer to writer: If you would read the first chapter of my novel, I’ll send you a free copy of The Man-Rabbit ebook come December 1st. Head over to The Man-Rabbit to check it out.
The Man-Rabbit
Urban Romantic Fantasy by Briellezbub

Just as Mel’s heart begins to open, Kim Li is snatched in a coup by the Man-Rabbit’s evil nemesis, Alejandra. Mel must rescue Kim Li and stop Alejandra from awakening evil reptilian bloods in the earth’s core before they annihilate the Man-Rabbit’s forces and occupy Earth.
